Honest Tea · Coca-Cola

PROJECT / HONEST TEA · COCA-COLA

The Opportunity

Honest Tea needed a new three-bottle packaging concept for Spain and Portugal.

At first sight, the task was simple: bring three bottles together in one compact package.

In reality, every design decision affected something else.

The package had to look consistent with the Honest Tea brand, use appropriate materials, protect the bottles, remain intuitive for the customer, occupy as little unnecessary space as possible and work efficiently through storage, transport and production.

The opportunity was to find a concept where all of those realities could work together.

What We Saw

A packaging concept does not live only on a shelf.

It passes through production, pallets, warehouses, transport, retail environments and finally into a customer's hands.

A visually strong idea could become inefficient in logistics. A compact structure could become difficult to handle. A sustainable material could create production constraints.

So rather than treating packaging as a graphic exercise, we looked at the complete journey around the product.

The Concept

Create the smallest and simplest structure capable of doing everything the package needed to do.

BAMHUB explored different structural concepts around three bottles, combining packaging design, material research, brand expression and practical constraints.

The objective was not to add more design.

It was to remove unnecessary complexity while keeping the pack distinctive, functional and aligned with Honest Tea's positioning.

Testing the Idea Before Production

Different concepts were developed and made tangible through 3D studies and prototypes.

This allowed proportions, bottle positioning, handling, stacking and material behaviour to be examined before committing to production.

At the same time, dimensions and materials could be considered against logistics, regional requirements and manufacturing feasibility.

The design could therefore evolve through what it actually needed to survive in the real world.

The Experience

The packaging also had to work at the final point of contact: the person opening and using it.

The interaction needed to feel simple and intentional rather than over-engineered.

Structure, graphics and opening logic were therefore considered as one experience rather than separate design elements.

What Became Real

The result was a compact three-bottle packaging system balancing brand, usability, sustainability and logistics.

Its structure reduced unnecessary space, supported more efficient palletisation and created a simple customer experience while remaining consistent with Honest Tea's visual identity.

The Impact

The package itself was the visible result.

The more important work happened before that: bringing together the different realities capable of making a good-looking idea succeed or fail.

Brand.

People.

Materials.

Logistics.

Regulation.

Production.

For BAMHUB today, this is Reality-Shaped Concept & Experience Design: developing an idea through the realities it will eventually have to face.

LET'S TALK

Bring us an idea, a problem, a property, capital, an existing business or a project already in progress. We first understand what is already there and then explain what we think should happen next.

The first conversation is free. If we believe BAMHUB can add value, we explain what we recommend, why we recommend it and what it would involve before sending a proposal.
