Actoris · Making GDPR Easier to Understand

PROJECT / ACTORIS · MAKING GDPR EASIER TO UNDERSTAND

The Opportunity

As GDPR was approaching, many companies knew that something important was changing, but understanding what it meant in practice was another matter.

What needed to be prepared? What would change? Which processes and documents would be affected? And where should a company even begin?

Actoris needed a way to help its clients understand those changes without turning a complex regulatory subject into another presentation nobody wanted to watch.

BAMHUB was asked to find a way to make it clearer and more engaging.

Turning Complexity Into a Story

Rather than starting with animation, we started with the audience.

GDPR involved rules, decisions, preparation and consequences. The challenge was to explain those relationships while keeping people interested long enough to understand them.

We developed the concept around a familiar idea: a game of chess.

Different situations could be represented through moves, choices and consequences, giving the audience a visual way to follow what was happening and understand why preparation mattered.

Keeping People Engaged

From that concept, we developed the storytelling and storyboard for two explainer videos.

The visual language, pacing and animation were designed around the same objective: make a complicated subject easier to follow without losing the audience along the way.

Instead of presenting GDPR as a sequence of regulations and documents, the videos gave Actoris a more accessible way to introduce the subject and start conversations with its clients.

The result was not simply content about GDPR.

It was a communication tool Actoris could use at a moment when many businesses were facing the same new questions.

The challenge was not how to animate GDPR. It was how to make people want to understand it.

LET'S TALK

Bring us an idea, a problem, a property, capital, an existing business or a project already in progress. We first understand what is already there and then explain what we think should happen next.

The first conversation is free. If we believe BAMHUB can add value, we explain what we recommend, why we recommend it and what it would involve before sending a proposal.
