Private Family Landscape

PROJECT / PRIVATE FAMILY LANDSCAPE

The Opportunity

A construction company was preparing a proposal for a private family residence.

But before anything could be built, there was a more immediate challenge:

how do you turn the different expectations of an entire family into one convincing outdoor environment?

Our client needed more than attractive images.

They needed a strong design proposal they could present, explain and defend in order to win the project.

At the same time, the family needed to see what their future outdoor space could actually become before making such a significant commitment.

BAMHUB worked with a team of designers to develop that proposition and make it tangible.

Understanding the Family

The landscape was being created for several people, each with different interests.

The parents wanted areas for relaxation and activity, including a swimming pool with a wave system.

Their daughter was particularly interested in vegetation and gardening, creating an opportunity for a greener area where this interest could become part of the landscape itself.

Their son needed something entirely different: a more active environment incorporating climbing and physical play.

And all of this had to remain part of a highly private family residence.

The challenge was not to place those requirements next to each other.

It was to make them feel like one place.

Designing Around Different Lives

The design process started from those different ways the family wanted to use the property.

Active and quiet areas had to coexist.

Vegetation needed to be more than decoration.

Children needed places that belonged to their interests without making the landscape feel like a playground.

The pool needed to become part of the overall environment rather than an isolated feature.

Privacy also influenced how the different areas were positioned and connected.

Working with the design team, BAMHUB helped translate these requirements into a coherent landscape direction.

Making an Unbuilt Idea Convincing

There was another reality behind the project.

Our client still had to win it.

The proposal therefore needed to communicate much more than a general design intention. It had to make the future environment understandable enough for the client to evaluate and believe in.

We developed detailed visualisations around the proposed landscape so that its different uses, atmosphere and spatial relationships could be experienced before construction.

The images were not simply documentation of a finished design.

They were part of making the proposal convincing.

A Tool for Decisions

The resulting concept gave the construction company something concrete to present and defend.

For the family, it transformed plans and ideas into a future they could actually see.

It also created a tangible representation of the proposed project that could support further discussions around the investment and its financing.

Before committing to the physical project, the different parties had something much closer to reality around which decisions could be made.

What Became Real

A collection of individual family requirements became one coherent landscape proposition.

Swimming, relaxation, gardening, play, movement, vegetation and privacy were brought together within the same environment.

And an opportunity that initially existed largely as requirements and possibilities became a project that could be seen, discussed and presented.

The Impact

This project sits between design and pre-construction decision-making.

BAMHUB helped understand what different people needed from the same place, worked with the right design capabilities to shape a response, and made that response tangible before the investment became physical.

The visualisations were the output.

Making an unbuilt project concrete enough to win confidence and move towards reality was the real work.

Reality-Shaped Concept & Experience Design

LET'S TALK

Bring us an idea, a problem, a property, capital, an existing business or a project already in progress. We first understand what is already there and then explain what we think should happen next.

The first conversation is free. If we believe BAMHUB can add value, we explain what we recommend, why we recommend it and what it would involve before sending a proposal.
